Component testing

At the KIEPE Test Center, we test power electronic components in a targeted and practical manner, from individual assemblies to functionally relevant key components of electric drive systems. The tests serve to verify function, thermal behavior, protective mechanisms, and limit ranges under realistic operating conditions.

Using state-of-the-art measurement and testing technology, we support development, validation, and approval processes in applications for rail, e-mobility, commercial vehicles, and industrial drives.

What we test

Power electronic components under practical conditions

The following items, among others, can be tested:

  • Drive converters
  • On-board converters
  • Assembled circuit boards
  • Contactors
  • Chokes
  • Capacitors
  • Power resistors
What we test

Extensive testing for functionality, safety, and load capacity

Our component tests:

  • Determination of power loss
  • Heating test, including testing of the cooling system's performance
  • Protective functions
  • Noise measurement
  • Behavior in limit ranges (overcurrent, overvoltage, overload, shutdown capability)
  • Dynamic test (load fluctuations, supply voltage fluctuations)
  • Electromagnetic compatibility
  • Magnetic field measurement
